Whilst in some ways it is great at highlighting the negative to us……….

The human brain can also be a hopeless optimist.

Telling ourselves that we’ll be able to do the thing………..

That we haven’t, consistently, before.

Thinking that we’ll ‘come good’ this time.

Telling ourselves over and over that “I know what I need to do, I just need to do it”.

The thing is though………….

When things get difficult (as life can on a daily basis)…………

We never rise to the level of our expectations.

We fall to our lowest level of training.

Knowing that can be powerful.

We realise we need to up our skill level.

The same way we do any skill.

A bit at a time.

We wouldn’t expect to get better at football by being thrown into a Premier League game.

We’d play against marginally better players.

Up our training a bit.

Get a bit better day by day.

Exercise and eating better is the same as any other skill.

We get a little bit better at it each time we do it.

Always remember that………

We never rise to the level of our expectations.

We fall to our lowest level of training.

Much love,
